What inspired you to become a massage therapist and create Serene Balance Massage?
Massage therapy was never something I originally planned for. During my first year of college, my school suddenly went bankrupt while I was still in my first semester. I felt uncertain about what to do next, and instead of rushing straight into another school, I decided to take a gap year and explore different paths. During that time, I worked a variety of jobs, hoping to discover what truly fit me, but nothing brought me real fulfillment — only stress and the feeling of working just to get by.
Eventually, I realized that kind of stress would only continue to wear on me physically and emotionally I knew that this wasn't something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life to keep working just so I can get by I wanted something that was meaningful not just to me but to others. That is when I remembered how much my great-grandmother loved the massages I would give her, and how friends and family had always encouraged me, even before I had formal training. That memory stayed with me, and it led me to enroll at the Cincinnati School of Medical Massage, where I completed a year-long program and earned my training at the school's student clinic.
After becoming licensed, I began my career at Massage Envy and was quickly booked with clients. Through that experience, I saw how much care, effort, and intention I put into helping people feel better through my work. Over time, I realized I wanted to build something of my own — a practice where I could fully express my approach to healing, better support myself and my family, and continue pursuing my education. That vision became Serene Balance Massage.

What makes your massage therapy approach and experience special or different from others?
My approach is deeply rooted in attentive palpation. As I work on your body, I focus on sensing the specific areas of pain and tension. I also integrate therapeutic stretching into my sessions. This combination aims to effectively relieve chronic pain and help you regain healthier posture and improved mobility.

What do you love most about helping clients, and what do you hope they gain from your sessions?
What I love most is empowering clients to move in ways they haven't been able to in a long time. Personally, I understand the challenges as I live with the medical condition known as scoliosis, which affects posture and mobility I'm not able to move as long as others and I get pain in my body that just builds up over time. My hope is that every client walks out of my sessions feeling completely revitalized, renewed, and capable of tackling anything that comes their way.
