What happens during a massage session?
Upon entering the room, I will step out to provide you with privacy to. Please disrobe; any items left on will need to be worked around, which can disrupt the flow of the session. During the massage, I will undrape each limb individually as I work on it, keeping the rest of your body respectfully covered. What information will make me feel comfortable and prepared for my first visit?
Clients feel most comfortable when they have a clear understanding of their experience. We provide information on:
The Arrival Ritual: the Japanese onsen foot soak and its ingredients (epsom salt, dead sea salt, Himalayan pink salt, magnesium chloride flakes, baking soda, and jojoba oil) so you are aware of what's inside, especially if you have allergies or specific medical advice to avoid certain components. This ritual serves as a grounding transition, marking the beginning of your session beyond just a table massage.
Logistics & Comfort: park outside of the building and walk in once your in walk down the stairs and turn on the right and walk down the hall, what to wear (loose clothing is recommended for the foot soak), and how to complete intake forms digitally beforehand.
The Environment: I describe the forest-inspired atmosphere, including scents, sounds, and lighting, to help you mentally prepare for a sensory-rich, relaxing experience.
Professional Boundaries: A brief overview of our approach to consent and communication ensures you feel safe and heard throughout your session.
Are there specific policies or tips for a smooth experience?
Booking & Attendance Policies: Clear boundaries help prevent misunderstandings and support my practice as a solo practitioner.
Cancellation Policy: To respect the time of both therapist and clients on my waitlist, I require 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a fee of [50-100] % of the service cost.
Arrival Time: I encourage clients to arrive 5-10 minutes early. This allows time for transitioning into your session, not just for paperwork.
Late Arrival: Late arrivals will still end at the scheduled time to ensure the next client is not delayed, and the full-service fee will apply.
Digital Detox: Please power down your devices before entering my space to preserve the tranquil "forest" atmosphere.
Hydration: Remember that just as a forest needs rain, your body thrives on hydration. Staying hydrated is beneficial before and after your massage.
What makes your approach special, especially for new clients?
We aim to provide a retreat that feels special, incorporating elements of Japanese culture for a unique personal experience. In keeping with Japanese tradition, you'll begin by cleansing your feet with warm water using a ladle. This transitions into a hot spring-inspired mineral foot soak, accompanied by a refreshing drink. After receiving warm foot towels, we move to the massage portion of your session. Our service is designed to help you walk out feeling like a new person, embodying a true sense of balance and renewal.
